There will be a midterm and final exam. The exams are take-home, open-book, open-notes. You may consult any published source (cite your references). Other people are closed. Do not discuss with classmates, friends, professors (except with Ross or Aislinn --- who promise to be clueless), until the examination is collected.

Exam schedule: The midterm examination will be available on the web the morning of Thursday, February 14 (affectionately). It will be due at a convenient time to be designated, the morning of Tuesday, February 19.

The final examination will be available on the web the morning of Tuesday, March 18. It will be due by 3:00 PM Friday March 21 in room 245 Sequoyah or to abohren@weber.ucsd.edu .

Midterm Exam --- Suggested Answers Midterm grade distribution: CONGRATULATIONS!!! YOU GUYS DID A GREAT JOB!! Grade distribution is approximate. 96 to 100 = A (over half the class), 91 to 95 = A-, 86 to 90 = B+, 85 and below = B.

Suggested Answers to Real Final Exam

Grading the course and final exam: CONGRATULATIONS!! Another job well done!! 85% of final exam scores were above 90 (out of 100). Course grades are based on a weighted average, 45% midterm, 55% final: 99+ = A+, 96-99 = A, 88 - 95.9 = A-, 81 - 87.9 = B+, 80 & less = B. Over half the class earned "A" and above. Returned exams should be in student mailboxes by 4 PM, Wednesday, March 26.
