Prerequisite Hold Issues
Often, students receive "prerequisite holds" when trying to register for Economics classes, even though they have satisfied all of the prerequisites. Most often these holds result because StudentLink does not recognize some transfer credit for Math, or cannot deal with mixes of the 10- and 20- calculus series. Here's an example: you received AP or transfer credit that is equivalent to Math 10A, then you took Math 20B, 20/21C at UCSD. Student Link will produce a message saying that you have not satisfied the prerequisites for a class that requires Math 10A-B-C or 20A-B-C.
Here's what you need to do to get the prereq hold lifted:
-
Check to make sure that you have completed ALL prerequisites.
-
Email one of the advisors (with your full name, PID#, course number(s) and six-digit section ID#'s) to remove any prerequisite holds if you have transfer or AP credit.
-
UG Advisor will clear the holds ONLY for the classes you specify.
-
After you receive your confirmation email, register for the classes on WebReg.
Once you have completed the first quarter of a multiple course sequence, you should not have any problems registering for the subsequent courses in that sequence.
