Career Information

A recent survey shows that Economics and Management Science students pursue careers in business, finance, government and the non-profit sector.  Many grads have assumed entry-level professional management positions, and some have  followed-up with further education (typically an MBA).  These graduates are located all over the map:  Mexico City; New York; Washington D.C; as well as throughout California.

Employers find that these students are extremely productive employees because of  their strong background in quantitative techniques, problem solving skills and understanding of the setting in which business and government operate.

Many graduates from the Economics Department have gone on to post-graduate work in economics, business, law and other fields.  The majority of graduates have gone directly into careers in business and government.

Jobpostings Magazine

Jobpostings Magazine is a monthly university/college recruitment publication that goes out to over 230 campuses across the United States.  The goal of the magazine is to let students know what opportunities are available to them when they graduate. Recent copies are available for FREE outside of Economics Student Services (Sequoyah Hall 245).

Our web site, www.jobpostings.net, offers hot links to company web sites and hot links to recruiters, so resumes and cover letters can be sent on-line by students looking for work.

The user-friendly site was recently transformed into a complete resource center for students offering jobs, career tips, a forum for HR professionals and students to talk with one another, exchange ideas, and help each other answer questions.
